Willy Church & his band of happy helpers were delighted with the weather 'window' in an otherwise murky June for the Annual Golf day held at Carrickfergus Golf Club (it never rains on the golf course).
The 130 golfers had another enjoyable outing with some very impressive scoring, the most notable being the overall winner Gary Davis with a tremendous 42 pts. Hot on his heels were Davy Graham (2nd place with a better back nine) & Lesley Lyle (3rd place) both with 41pts.
I promised Gerard Watson that I wouldn't mention that he was the only golfer not to make it across the Dam at the intimidating 1st hole…so I won't…oops!
Dylan Kerr walked off with the celebrity trophy.
Kevin Smylie & Tim Weir at the 9th & 17th holes lifted the longest drive prizes respectively.
Nearest the pin prizes were claimed by Gavin McKnight, Ken Pollin, Darren Miskelly, Tom Cosgrove & Colin Gray. Congratulations also, to all the other prizewinners.
A big thanks to all who took part & we hope to see you all back next year on Friday 12th June 2009, so put this date in your diary for a great day's craic.
